Young pilot lands plane on highway in Quebec, Video
A Cessna with four souls on board took off from Bromont, Que on April 26. During the flight the plane had mechanical issues and the pilot was forced to land the on a busy highway. Footage filmed from onboard shows the pilot doing everything right, and finding a break in traffic, and safely landing the aircraft. The pilot Ugo Derouet is currently completing his Commercial License.
Good job or I guess in this case bon travail!

Online Vs Paper Logbooks
There is an extensive debate raging amongst pilots, which is better the old fashion way, recording all your flights by hand in a 'paper' logbook or the 'modern' way on some online source.
I think that this argument could revolve around the fact that some older pilot don't trust computers. I have also heard one person talk about how cool it is to have a bookshelf full of your last 25 years of flying history (I wish, I am still trying to fill up my first logbook!). But I figure why not do both? One of the things that they say with flying is you should always have a backup, what ever that may be. So why not have a back up logbook?
What I do is still keep a paper logbook, more for sentimental value, and then keep an online logbook as well.
My online logbook is with zululog.com, its free and really easy to use, but still gives you all the entry options that you would have in a paper logbook. There are also other online logbooks, some that you can even get on your iPhone! I have also heard of pilot just recording their flight in Microsoft Excel.
I guess in the end the choice is up to you!

David Clark H10-60
I recently purchased a David Clark H10-60 headset. I figured I had flown enough with uncomfortable headsets, my ears were starting to get sick of it. I started to look online and the best deal I could find, and the best I found was from skygeek.com. Cheap shipping within the US so I had it shipped to CanAmer Freight in Blaine, Washington. A quick trip down to the states, picked up a case of beer, filled up my car with cheap gas and I was back home in Canada.
After a few weeks of bad weather I finally got to try out the headset. I must say it is great headset, so comfortable, very quiet (not as quiet as an ANR headset but still good), all around I am very satisfied with the headset. I would recommend this headset to anyone who is looking for a very good/comfortable headset, but isn't willing to spend big money on an ANR headset.

Does Google Know To Much?
I use Google Adsense on this blog more for fun, I know I am not going to make hardly anyincome from it.
The other day I was looking at the ads that were displayed on my blog and they didn't have much to do with the content of my blog posts. The other day I bought a David Clark headset from skygeek.com, and immediately after the purchase I noticed that skygeek.com was advertised on my blog!
Is this just a coincidence or does Google factor in purchases made on you computer when choosing ads to use in your Adsense?

iPads in the cockpit revisited
So as I talked about in a previous post, pilots are finding the Apple iPad a very helpful tool in multi-crew environments. This is signified in Delta and Alaska Airlines quest to start outfitting pilots with iPads. I think that this is a great idea!

RyanAir cutting it to thin, or fighting to cut prices?
UK based RyanAir is known for cheap flights throughout Europe. When you google RyanAir, the number one result is Cheap Flights-RyanAir. When you click this link you are lead to a rather "cheap" looking website, this is one of the ways that RyanAir can offer such cheap rates by only spending money when it is needed.
After hearing about RyanAir's plan to charge for bathroom use I became curious about the company. So if I am not mistaken RyanAir offers minimum services, and then offers excellent rate for their flights.
I believe that this is a good idea because most of RyanAir's flight are just quick hops around Europe, so what is more appealing to customers comfort or price?

Stowaway Falls From Wheel Well Of Airblue
Pilots of an Airblue flight from Lahore, Pakistan to Dubai, UAE reported problems with their landing gear immediately after take off. A few moments later they notified ATC that their problem had been fixed. Around the same time witnesses reported seeing something, or some one, fall from a plane. A family living near the airport were shocked when they found a body on their rooftop, an autopsy revealed that the man had fallen a great distance. Pakistani police are trying to piece together what exactly happened in this strange series of events. This would not be the first time a stowaway has fallen from a wheel well.
