There is a new piece of technology that pilots are beginning to use more and more, the iPad. If you think about it, it is a pretty good idea. There are apps that will give you the weather, show you maps and even record your flight information. Companies have even began to release accessories such as a thigh board which holds the iPad. I think this is a good idea for multi crew operations, but might get in the way of a single pilot in an already cramed cockpit. Other pilots have integrated the iPad into their instrument panel. It functions as a GPS, artificial horizon and even an airspeed indicator. I don't know if I would trust the iPad as a navigational tool, but I think it is quite an interesting idea.
